Best Presentation Award for Young Investigator at the 8th WACBE World Congress on Bioengineering

Miss Lin GUO, a third-year PhD student supervised by Professor Min Wang in the Department of Mechanical Engineering, is a winner of the Best Presentation Award for Young Investigator at the 8th WACBE World Congress on Bioengineering which was held in Hong Kong on July 30 – Aug. 2, 2017. At the conference, she gave an oral presentation of the paper “Cancer Cell Targeting and Internalization of Theranostics Released from Advanced Tissue Engineering Scaffolds” authored by Lin Guo, Li-wu Zheng and Min Wang. There were 120 applications for the Best Presentation Award in this conference and 40 papers were shortlisted for the final competition. The five awardees (oral presentation) were selected based on both the research conducted and the presenter’s presentation and response.

The World Association for Chinese Biomedical Engineers (世界華人生物醫學工程協會) (http://www.wacbe.org/) was founded by Professor Savio L-Y. Woo of University of Pittsburgh, USA, who is a highly accomplished researcher (member of the National Academy of Medicine (1991), National Academy of Engineering (1994) and Academia Sinica (1996)) and a world leader in biomedical engineering. WACBE now has over 650 members worldwide. It organizes the WACBE World Congress on Bioengineering every two years and the conference language is English. Past WACBE congresses were held in Taipei (Taiwan), Beijing (China), Bangkok (Thailand), Hong Kong, Tainan (Taiwan), Beijing (China), and Singapore.
