Seminar : Liquids at nanoscale: Peculiarities and Applications

Title: Liquids at nanoscale: Peculiarities and Applications
Speaker: Professor Wonho Jhe
Seoul National University
Date: 5 May, 2017 (Friday)
Time: 11:15 a.m.
Venue: Room 7-37, Haking Wong Building, HKU
Like solids, liquids show very different properties compared with bulk. For example, bulk water is used as a lubricant but nanoscale water causes friction due to its viscoelasticity. In this talk, I will discuss physical properties of two form of nanoscale water: nanomeniscus and hydration layer. Novel platform of nanofabrication with nanoscale liquids is also discussed.
